Shareholder Brendan Lynch was quoted in a Mansion Global article regarding Florida municipalities trying to lower millage rates or keep them at current levels to provide some relief to homeowners. Because property valuations have risen so sharply in many places, such as Palm Beach, some towns are able to lower rates while still collecting more overall revenue.
Lynch explained that homeowners may be pleasantly surprised by their tax bills. “Even though values are up, their taxes didn’t increase as much as they thought they would,” he said.
