Stephen Thomas Appointed Chair of Founders Forum Board of Directors

Stephen C. Thomas, shareholder with Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. in the firm’s Melbourne’s office, has been appointed chair of the Founders Forum (FF) Board of Directors. The FF is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the needs of entrepreneurs within Brevard County where Thomas resides and practices intellectual property and business law. Founded in 1985, the FF has evolved into an educational and networking organization where entrepreneurs can learn from each other and build relationships with many of the regions’ most successful business leaders. FF recently honored Bryan and Donna Scott of Barn Light Electric Company and Playalinda Brewing Company as their 2016 Entrepreneurs of the Year.

Thomas is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. In this role, Thomas practices in the areas of patent and trademark prosecution and infringement litigation, technology law, licensing/royalty strategies and agreements, and business law. He serves as IP counsel for a number of business and university clients, and provides a full spectrum of guidance regarding IP licensing and royalty strategy, IP acquisition strategies, building and maintaining an enforceable IP asset portfolio, IP docket management, teaming/partnering strategies and related matters. Thomas is also engaged in prosecuting numerous patent applications in the USPTO and is managing national stage filings of PCT applications in Mexico, South Korea, India and the European Patent Office.
