Orlando Eliminated Parking Requirements for Some Apartment Projects. Should Orange County Follow Suit?
Lowndes attorney Rebecca Wilson was quoted in a GrowthSpotter article discussing Orange County possibly reducing its parking requirements for multifamily developments.
“The County’s Code overparks the needs of their residents,” said Wilson. “I believe that, for Orange County, eliminating the parking requirement for multifamily altogether would swing the pendulum too far. I believe that eliminating parking requirements altogether is more appropriate in an area serviced by transit-such as downtown Orlando. I do believe that the County should significantly reduce the requirement to be more in line with parking demand.”
