Overview
Alex Dobrev is the chair of the firm's Multifamily & Condominium Group, focusing his practice on condominium terminations. He assists bulk investors, unit owner-controlled associations, and third-party termination trustees, guiding them through the complex termination process and addressing regulatory and structural challenges associated with aging condominium properties.
A recognized thought leader, Alex is a frequent speaker on condominium terminations, contributing to the Condominium and Planned Development Law Certification Review Course and serving as faculty for the Ralph E. Boyer Institute on Condominium and Cluster Development held annually by the University of Miami School of Law.
Beyond terminations, Alex counsels investors, developers, and lenders on the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of multifamily, condominium, and other commercial real estate projects. He has significant experience with large-scale mixed-use developments.
Alex also advises clients on compliance with the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act (ILSA), including navigating full and partial exemptions and structuring offerings to meet legal requirements.
An active member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, Alex serves on the Section’s Executive Council and co-chairs the Condominium & Planned Development Committee. He is vice-chair of both the Information Technology and Professionalism & Ethics Committees, and chairs the Commercial Real Estate Committee's Blockchain & Digital Assets Task Force. Alex is also a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
