Culture

Lowndes is a Florida-based law firm with a national footprint. For more than 50 years, we have delivered innovative legal solutions for our clients by understanding their needs, their business and their industry.

The firm’s original four partners were engaged primarily in a burgeoning real estate practice. While our real estate practice and deep-rooted involvement in that industry remains an integral component of the firm, we have grown alongside the dynamic needs of our clients and community at large.

Today, we advise clients on almost every aspect of business: from copyrights and trademarks to high-stakes, high-profile litigation; from complex commercial and residential real estate issues to wealth management; from labor and employment law to healthcare; from capital raising and entity formation to corporate growth and expansion locally, nationally and internationally.

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that enriches the workplace and enables us to better serve our clients and our community.

Culture

The firm was founded on and continues to adhere to several guiding principles of conduct, professionalism, practice and collegiality that have provided the framework for our culture. These enduring principles revolve around integrity, openness, trust, mutual support and cooperation, a strong work ethic, and client service orientation, and define our relationships to each other, to our clients and to the community.

Community

The investment in our community is a fundamental element of our business philosophy. The firm as a whole and our individual attorneys and staff have a long history of enthusiastically committing financial support and volunteer hours to charitable, civic, educational, industry, professional and trade organizations. Many hold leadership positions on the boards and committees of over 100 organizations.

Pro Bono

Contributing to the local community has been an essential part of life at our firm since our inception. Our attorneys have provided pro bono legal services in a variety of circumstances, such as serving as guardians ad litem for vulnerable minors, participating in a pretrial diversion program for youths arrested for non-violent misdemeanors, representing indigent men and women who need to obtain a divorce, and assisting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando, Inc. with clearing land titles on properties used to build homes.

Diversity and Inclusion

Excellent lawyers come from every racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, and social background, and we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. Our attorneys and staff, who represent a wide range of ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and national origins, actively support and participate in civic and community projects that benefit our diverse community – enhancing our ability to serve clients. We are proud to be part of "Take the Pledge," a regional initiative committed to creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive business community.

Meritas

Need help elsewhere? The firm is a founding member of Meritas, a global alliance of more than 7,500 experienced lawyers in over 190 full-service law firms – all rigorously qualified, independent and collaborative. Our clients have access to legal counsel in 256 markets in 97 countries, and ongoing recertification and periodic peer reviews help ensure Meritas firms’ adherence to high levels of client service.
