Shareholder Tara Tedrow, recognized as a leading land-use attorney in the region, recently talked to the Orlando Business Journal about how the rapid pace of Central Florida development has led to housing opponents, often called NIMBYs, to become more active at local zoning meetings.

In the article, entitled "How NIMBYs Affect Orlando's Housing Issue, and How to Find Compromise," Tedrow discusses how negotiation can be the key to successful outcomes.

“The pace of development over the last five years probably has exacerbated some of the fears and concerns that residents have about there being too much growth in their communities,” said Tedrow.

"I understand why residents are involved. [Land use] is a unique microcosm of democracy at work. It is the only place where you can show up outside of the voting booth where you can have a direct impact."
