Lowndes Attorney Melody Lynch Named President of Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra

July 06, 2021

Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that shareholder Melody Lynch has been elected president of the board of directors of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra (OPO). A member of the organization’s board of directors since 2015, she mostly recently served as vice president and president-elect and chaired the executive director search committee. Her two-year term as president began on July 1, 2021.

“I am honored to be asked lead the Orlando Philharmonic Board as we move closer to our new home in Steinmetz Hall. While Dr. Mary Palmer has left huge shoes to fill after her tenure at the helm of the board, the electric combination of Paul Helfrich as our executive director and Eric Jacobsen as our music director makes the role of president an exciting one to undertake,” said Lynch. “I can’t wait to continue to work with Paul, Eric, the supremely talented musicians, the dedicated staff, and of course, all our wonderful donors and Friends to further the OPO’s mission to be a world-class philharmonic.”

A native of Orlando and a professional ballet dancer prior to law school, Lynch has a passion for both the arts and the Central Florida community. She currently volunteers as a pro bono attorney with the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association and Seniors First, representing the interests of abused children and indigent elderly wards. She also serves on the Lake Highland Preparatory School Arts League and Alumni Board of Visitors.

Lynch focuses her legal practice on probate, trust & fiduciary litigation, contested guardianships, and complex business disputes. She regularly handles resolving conflicts among family members and other estate beneficiaries, fights over missing assets and property ownership, claims by or against fiduciaries, guardianship challenges, and other proceedings requiring the interpretation of wills and trusts. Lynch frequently helps charitable organizations, foundations, trustees and other institutional beneficiaries of large estates navigate the probate process. Whether in or out of the courtroom, she handles these delicate – and often emotional – issues not just with legal proficiency but with compassion as well.
