Wealth of Experience Comes to the Firm with New Corporate and Business Law Partner

Orlando, FL -- Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed has added another key player to its corporate and business law practice with the addition of 24-year practitioner, Peter E. Reinert. Reinert has a diverse practice with a primary focus on corporate, corporate advisory services, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, securities and taxation. Reinert joins the Lowndes firm as a partner and shareholder after previously serving as a shareholder with Akerman Senterfitt, Orlando where he was the corporate practice group leader for the Orlando office.

Published in the Best Lawyers of America, Reinert joins Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed with an abundance of experience representing public and private companies, including leading consolidators, in mergers, acquisitions and sale transactions. General Electric Company, NationsRent and CNL Financial Group are among the many companies he has represented in this area. Reinert’s corporate and securities practice has focused on venture capital, private equity and mergers and acquisitions transactions. He regularly counsels established and emerging companies, entrepreneurs and investors in significant corporate and transactional matters. Many public and private companies have relied on Reinert's skillful representation before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission regarding antitrust compliance and anti-takeover issues.

Reinert brings prior experience as senior counsel of transactions with General Electric Company and as vice president and general counsel for GE Service Management, Inc. In the earlier days of his legal career he served as a law clerk with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Reinert began his professional career in certified public accounting.

Earning his law degree from University of Miami School of Law (J.D.1984,) he earned his Masters in Law degree in Taxation from University of Miami (LL.M 1986,) as well. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo (B.S. 1978.)

Along with frequently lecturing on a wide variety of corporate and business topics, Reinert is a member of many prominent area boards and committees and has served in several capacities with the Orange County Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and the American Bar Association.

Among his business community involvement, Reinert serves as a founding member for BioOrlando of the MetroOrlando Economic Development Commission and is a member of the Florida Life Science Council for Enterprise Florida. He also serves as an executive advisory board member for the University of Central Florida Incubator. Philanthropic and service organizations have also been served by Reinert with his past leadership in the Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc. as chairman and president. Reinert also is a past-president for the Christian Service Center of Central Florida, Inc. and Rebuilding Together of Central Florida, Inc.
